All Snowed In...

So this is what I woke up to this morning @ 6:30am and it hasn't stopped. I have never seen this much snow in my life. So of course I had to call into work and make it a snow day.

And our lights.. turned into the real things..LOL.

Who would of thought we'd ever get this much snow?? Hope everyone had a fun and safe day. Hope tomorrow is safer and we can all return to work.. I know I need the money..LOL

To Catch You Up On Everything....

So it's been awhile since I've been on and posted anything. So I have no clue where to start..LOL. So I'll just start things off with me and Ryan.

Ryan has been going to UC Berkeley now since August.. He's going to be finishing up his first semester there in the next couple of weeks. We are doing great. I was scared at first because of comments that people would make... but it's actually made our relationship a lot stronger. Since he's been gone he has came home I think three times. I love when he comes home, but the good byes never get easier. He actually left today to go back up there and I was crying :( It's very hard but we remind ourselves of the good that will come out of it.

He's doing well but it's a big struggle for him. There is a class or two that is kicking his butt.. but he never gives up.

I ended up cutting my hair off.... yeah I just went in to add some color and as she was washing it out I told her to cut it off and don't show me until she was done..LOL. And it came out actually cute. I'm pleased.

But I think I want to cut it a little bit more..LOL. We'll see though...lol.

It's getting harder

Ryan came back from Berkeley on Saturday and they got an apartment. Let me tell you.. this whole experiance is so bittersweet. I want to be so happy and excited for him... but at the same time I'm scared. His move in date is August 14th.. my birthday is August 16th... he starts school on the 25th our anniversary is the 24th. Can timing be any worse...LOL. Gosh. So my first few weeks I can tell are going to be the hardest. And at the same time... I want to spend time with him... but I don't get the vibe back from him. So it kind of sucks really. And Rachel, I know you went through this with Andy... I hope you have some good advice...LOL.
Last night I don't know if I was dreaming about something or not.. but I woke up around 3am and instantly started thinking about Ryan leaving... I got up went to the bathroom... and cuddled up next to him in bed... and cried queitly. I haven't even told him that's why I cuddled with him last night. It's so hard.. and I still have 5 weeks to go...LOL. I need Dr. Phil...LOL LOL

Just Updating Everyone..

It's been awhile since I've "blogged"... Sorry Rachel :( So I decided I would write a blog and update everyone on what has been going on in my life.

Ryan is getting ready to leave for UC Berkeley. I went to Walmart last weekend and bought him some hangers, an alarm clock, toothpaste, and a hamper. I thought it was cute.. Ryan just laughed at me..LOL. Ryan and his friend, Sonny (sonny also got accepted and will be attending CAL) left this morning at 5am to find an apartment. And I think they had some luck.

My puppies are doing great. We are actually taking a day trip up to Vegas, because of a family get together.. so they get to stay with their great grandparents.. aka Mom and Pop :D

I'm doing okay. Thinking about getting a new job. It makes me sad only because I've worked there for almost 4 years. But with Ryan leaving I need to pay bills... and I don't think I'll be able to do it. Even if they gave me a $1 raise.. they already don't pay me what I should be making.. so it might be good for me to get out there.. especially if I can find somewhere that will pay me what I should be making.
Also, I'm kinda bummed. Next weekend there is a fundraiser in memory of our great friend, Wes. And Ryan and I won't be able to attend :( Ryan has a family thing in Vegas.. that I somewhat talked about when I was talking about my pups. But happens that those two important events are on the same day :( It just sucks. But Wes's brother, Chris, said not to worry because he is sure they'll be more. :D I love Wes and we both miss him so much.

Anyway... I hope everyone is doing great. I'll try to keep up with my blogging.

Mother's Day 2008

Girls Day Out!!!

- Me, My Mommy, & My Grandma set out on our very own girls day out. We headed to Ventura for shopping, eating and more shopping :D

(above is a picture of Ventura's Bay. I thought this was pretty! It did scare me however to think about how much fish is there. For those who don't know.. I'm so afraid of fish)

-after walking and mostly shopping, we headed over to the Ventura Pier and ate lunch at Ericcson's. It was delicious. Even thought everything mostly involved fish YUCK. My Grandma and my Mommy both got themselves a $55 lobster tail.. how nasty huh...LOL. It was funny. They made fun of me because I just ordered a salad w/ Chicken..LOL

-After eating lunch we headed back to the shops we were at before lunch. We went for coffee and pastries.. but we shopped some more...LOL. The best store we went into was "The Hat Store". By the pictures below you can just imagine how much fun we had. Enjoy and don't laugh at me too hard in my airplane picture..LOL

-After we were done being silly we headed over to this little shop where we sat down and had coffee and bread pudding. Afterwards we had our little photo time at the end of the day.

-After that we headed home. I would have to say that was the best Mother's Day I have ever spend with my Mommy and My Grandma. We are thinking of making it a tradition. And also thinking about doing it on Father's Day...LOL LOL.

I hope everyone had a great mother's day! Mothers are one of the best things the God created. I love them so much. Not all mommy's are perfect.. but perfect or not they will always love you. And that is why they deserve so much :D

SMILE!!

Yesterday while I was at work a patient came in with some flowers. I was sitting behind the charts eatting my lunch and I over heard him chatting with the front desk. He brought 2 little things of flowers for the front desk and gave them to Rachel while he kept one and told her, "this one is for Marissa", it was a pink rose. After I was done eatting I came out and he gave me the rose. He told me he gave it to me because I smiled at him the last time he came in. I said thank you ... and told me that I should always have a smile on my face.

I called Ryan and told him that some 52 years old was hitting on his girlfriend .. but his response was, "your smile can do that to people"...LOL. It was a little thing that made my day.

So Proud!!

WAY TO GO HUNNY!!! COULDN'T BE ANY PROUDER THEN I AM!! I LOVE YOU!!



Not to long after Ryan and I started dating, we both started to go back to school. We are pretty good at pushing each other to do better in life. So he made a dream or I'll say goal to get into Berkeley or UCLA for Mechanical Engineering.
He applied to:

• UC Irvine
• UC San Deigo
• UC Northridge
• UCLA
• UC Berkeley

Now out of all 5 of the schools... HE GOT INTO ALL OF THEM!!!

I can't explain how proud of him I am. It's an amazing feeling watching the one you love accomplish so much. He had to work very hard and proved to a lot of people they were wrong. Now he has a big decision. It's between UCLA and UC Berkeley. Berkeley looks like their giving him a lot more money then UCLA, but UCLA is a lot closer to home and he is afraid and scared of the dramatic change it will cause in his life to more to San Fransico. I love him and will be there for him no matter what school he decides to go to.

NFL Draft

Every year Ryan and I always watch the NFL Draft. I only watch it because Ryan makes me..LOL. But every year we make our own draft board...LOL. Yup.. we have all the teams down and their picks, Our 75 top players that we wouldn't mind drafting, and of course the Lions Picks. But when I was making our board, one of our little girls, Courtney, wanted to help me.. so I had to put the picture up because it's too cute...LOL. That's really the only reason why I wrote this blog..LOL.

Bartholin Gland Cyst

On Friday, April 18th I went to see an OB doctor who diagnosed that I had a Bartholin Gland Cyst. After a few minutes of talking to me, she said that it needed to come out :( I have never had anything medically done to me so I was freaking out. And the best part is where is was located.. jeeze, out of my entire body, it planted itself between my legs :( so yeah, she got me numb, which was not fun. The nurse tried to talk to me and compare it to a dental shot to relate more to me. Well let me tell you, I rather have a root canal. The "little" pinch for just a "second" was a HUGE PINCH that seemed like ONE MINUTE! After she got everything set up, she took off her lab coat and said "this could get messy".. it was funny.. but something I didn't want to hear..LOL. So since Friday, I can't sit down right, I can't bend over to pick up anything, and I walk like a freaking penguin..LOL. Chances are I'll be like this till she takes out this "golf tee" looking that is inside me draining the cyst. And I have to take a bath everyday for 3 WEEKS :( in Epsom salt. And the difficult part is.. I'm always busy and have things I have to do during the weekend.. and this whole procedure has slowed me down. I can only do so much and have to lay down. :( And I'm the type of person and has to always be on the go and get everything finished before I relax. I guess you can say I'm stressed.

I miss him

For the past week and a half I have been having a hard time with the passing of a great friend. I heard he'll be graduating from BYU on the 25th and Paige, his wife, will be walking in his place.. I think that is so awesome. I was trying to figure out a way I can get Ryan and I out there to see it, honor and to celebrate Wes's acheivements, but Ryan says he can't because of school :( So I was a little disappointed.. but I know Wes understands. But I have a little story to tell... I already told Paige this on Monday.. But I want to share it because it meant a lot.
Sometime last week I was feeling down and a little depressed. I texted Ryan hoping that would make me feel better but it didn't... I didn't know what was making me feel that way. And at work we listen to this horrible radio station that plays like hard rock and roll (which is odd hearing at a dental office) but out of no where Johnny Cash "Walk the Line" came on... I thought of Wes as soon as I heard it... I got chills, my eyes got watery... but right away I felt better. I know he is there with us everyday.. and I guess I can except that, I have too.. I just wish they could take trips like vacations from Heaven just to talk and visit with us. I miss him.

I recieved my fan club card, shirt, picture and sticker...LOL. I know, I'm such a loser..LOL. I have been waiting since December for my stuff... and it was well worth the wait :D YAY!!!

Happy 26th Birthday

Today was one of my brothers birthday, Jeremy. He turned 26 today. Dana, his fiance, and I texted all day today to figure out what we could do today because he had to close tonight at work. So me, Dana, Landon (his son aka my nephew), and Sammy went to the party store and bought some hats and balloons and went into his work. :D

Kings Game!!!

Today Ryan played hockey at the Staples Center after we were done watching the L.A. Kings lose :( But it was fun because I haven't seen Ryan play hockey in a long time. So It was fun to see him play again. Isn't he adorable in his little hockey outfit.. isn't he cute?

I've Created A Monster!!!

So Ryan went with me AGAIN today and got a Pedicure while I got my nails done. And he is actually thinking of getting one once a month now.. OH DEAR, WHAT HAVE I DONE...LOL. But it's funny stuff to watch him. Even his older brother, Jeffrey, came and watched and even sat in the chair next to him...LOL. Dang guys.

The Last Moment With Booger

Look what I found on our computer :( It makes me sad. But this is Shannon! She is the new owner of Booger. And what is weird is, I emailed Dale, who is her dad, just to see how everything was going and to make sure he recieved the Pink Slip and he is usually always constant with writing me back.. well it's almost been a month :( What if she crashed Booger? Oh dear... But anways.. Thought I'd share with you guys. I miss my car, very very much. Just don't tell Ryan, it hurts his feelings. Love you guys.

My Little Poppy!

Yesterday after a long day at work, I came home and there was a little Poppy inside of a Pink Highlighter cap. It was placed right beside my bed. It was a little surprise from Ryan..LOL. He knows I love small surprises... It was cute. He even put water in the cap..haha. I guess he was asking everyone around the house for a pink highlighter so he could steal the cap. He's cute. And when I was gone today running errands, he placed it in the sun.... and it died :( ...lol. He thought that it would love some sun...LOL. Here is a picture of MY LITTLE POPPY below.

Daddy's Girl!

I will admit and have no problem admitting, that our little girl, Courtney, Loves her Daddy! She'll sit and wait for him to come home from school, and once he is home it tummy rubbing time :D I kid you not, everynight is like the picture...LOL. If I rub Ryan's back, she has to be laying across the back of his neck and keep an eye on me...LOL. It's adorable.

My 1st Carrie Concert!!

OMG guys!!! Last night was so awesome. Ryan and I went to see Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban. I can't even tell you how excited I still am...LOL. I was getting angry on the way down there because there was so much traffic and we ended up missing her first song. :( But we still heard it as we were walking to our seats. But when we got to our seats and a saw her.. OH MAN!! Ha, ha.. it was exciting because Ryan and I liked her since we saw her audition on American Idol, so to see her doing what she worked so hard for made me so happy! It was so fun singing along to all of her songs and seeing drunk girls "try" to dance.. Oh man.. she was so pretty too.. didn't even mess up once. That's how you know she is a great performer..LOL.
Keith Urban put on a great show too. Ryan and I weren't even going to stay for the entire thing because it was getting late. But we did..LOL. And then Carrie came out and started rocking with him.. it was great. I want to go again.. I should buy more tickets on Ryan's credit care...LOL. Yup..lol. I'll have to put up pictures as soon as I get them on the computer. But I recommend people to see them. I'm still overjoyed (if that's even a word)! Yay!!! LOL.
